Matt Smith is a professional engineer holding university degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science. He currently works as a custom machinery design engineer for a heavy-industry automation and teaches robotics as a hobby.
Matt was the president of his university's robotics team, bringing a group of 37 students to their first international competition in South Daytona Florida. He is also a published Apple App Store mobile game developer and enjoys various programming-related hobbies.
His passion for teaching, mentorship and technology inspired him to found Advantage Robotics. He believes that anyone can learn the basic technologies that power our world, and has developed a teaching strategy to make this journey fun and easy, for anyone.
In his spare time, he can most likely be found volunteering with Search and Rescue in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, or teaching robotics camps through local high schools and community centers.
